Regular, moderate exercise like walking and biking are the closest thing we have to a health panacea. US city and road design has made walking and biking impractical, unpleasant and dangerous in much of the country. Changing this would save *$billions* in healthcare *and transportation* costs.

Buttigieg is right, but what has USDOT accomplished re: road safety under his watch?

🔹 State DOTs still choose speed > safety
🔹 NHTSA still wasting $ on useless road safety PSAs
🔹 No major steps on car bloat
🔹 Tesla still misleading ppl on “Full-Self Driving”
"We are rightly up in arms when something happens on an airplane and someone could have gotten hurt, and yet we let a full airplane's worth of people die every day in car crashes on our roads." — Pete Buttigieg

A sharp drop in low cloud cover boosted global warming last year.
Three possible explanations:
1. a global reduction in aerosol pollution, which helps clouds form and persist.
2. global warming changing how clouds behave (climate feedback)
3. natural variability in the climate.

Another big year-on-year jump in atmospheric CO₂! Based on daily values, the November average at Mauna Loa was ~423.9 ppm, that's around 3.4 ppm higher than one year ago.
We're on our way to the first 430 ppm in at least 15 million years.

If your state’s price to income ratio is over 4.5, your state has a housing shortage and you need to dramatically reform zoning to legalize more homes.
The solution is to build more homes.

it’s fascinating that left-NIMBYs will just nonchalantly say “the private sector will never release enough homes to allow prices to fall” as if it’s some universally known truth…

when in reality, that’s exactly what happened in Austin and Minneapolis

So a reminder:

It’s not ‘liberals’ saying Hegseth abuses women. It’s his mom.

It’s not ‘liberals’ comparing Trump to Hitler. It’s his vice-president.

It’s not ‘liberals’ calling Musk a liar and a racist. It’s his own child.

For the record.

✨️Finland’s “Housing First” policy treats #housing as a basic right, offering permanent homes to the homeless before addressing other issues like employment or health. Cities worldwide can adopt this by prioritizing #affordablehousing, reducing bureaucracy, and funding wraparound support services. 👇🏼
HOUSING THE HOMELESS SAVES MONEY IN FINLAND: “a recent study showed the savings in emergency healthcare, social services & the justice system totalled as much as €15,000 a year for every homeless person in properly supported housing.”

It works AND it saves money.
