Somehow, today marks the tenth (?!) anniversary of the launch of “Minecraft: Story Mode.” It was a bit of a punching bag for the internet and social media back then, but it has unbelievably continued to draw fans all these years later even while unavailable to play in any (official) form.

I'm often reminded that Demon Days is a perfect album. I think it hits harder now than it did at release, for me, but I've loved it since day 1.

Twenty years ago this week, Telltale announced that they'd signed a deal with Steve Purcell to make episodic Sam & Max games. Time flies!

In honor of this momentous occasion, all three Sam & Max remasters are on sale on Steam, PlayStation, and Switch. (Sorry Xbox peeps, we'll get you next time!)

Took the kiddo to see the Demon Slayer Movie. Was basically 2.5 hours of characters standing around angrily remembering things at each other. Kiddo loved it.

This is the part that gets me as well. Sometimes people will say, “Well AI isn’t going to take Director level jobs.” And I ask them who the hell is going to be Director level when all of us who built our skills over a career end those careers.
I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.
Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

As a developer that has been fairly public: we're not equipped to deal with the deluge of abuse and hate that comes our way - and I'm an indie, I'm literally responsible for my own choices. Can't imagine having to stand in that torrent for choices the stakeholders forced despite my objections.
journalists can only do so much to convince readers that games are made by people, at some point companies need to let their talent talk about the industry they’re in, to communicate as if they are not in a vacuum where the only game that exists is the one in front of them

One of my favorite Telltale memories is being at the mall across the street for lunch and seeing George just casually walking into Kay Jewelers.

Early films used more mobile camera work than many people give them credit for but they also sometimes used other trickery, like faking a zoom-like effect by wheeling a piece of the set toward the still camera, as we see in the Méliès film THE MERMAID

FY2024 was the most profitable in history for the video game industry

It also saw the most layoff waves, and highest known layoff headcount in recent history.

Lets do the math. Who wants to guess where all the money is going?
