A lot of people are noticing the spread of AI sexual abuse material on X now, but it has been happening for years. Young actresses like Jenna Ortega and Xochitl Gomez fled the platform. Even celebrities say there’s nothing they can do to stop it. Misogynistic violence is the main reason I left X.

I haven't seen any consequences for this Grok "AI" horror show, not even any news coverage.

Thousands of non-consensual images generated every second

"AI" image generation is not primarily used to make cats dance ballet or whatever, it's mostly used to non-consensually undress real women and pose them in sexual situations against their will. "AI" is being leveraged by men to control, humiliate, and shame women in real life.

I don't think desaturated gritty realism is a good fit for epic poetry
The first trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is here 👀

Have they all just chugged the kool-aid or is the tech + financial markets lobby forcing "AI" integration in a desperate bid to extend the bubble - because Firefox users absolutely DO NOT want this.

A while back, I made a video essay about how The Last Jedi subverts media expectations around male action heroes. Star Wars fanboys have downvoted it to hell but I stand by everything I said. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWqV...

Pre-Code films are a window into an astonishingly modern world. Queer people have always been part of America, but we were actively erased from its face for half a century.

The video essay I'm currently working on is taking an extra extra long time, but I think it will be worth it...

Palantir CEO Says Legalizing War Crimes Would Be Good for Business
Palantir CEO Alex Karp recently rhapsodized that US air strikes on Venezuelan civilians would be good for business, if only it were legal.

Yeah, this very bad for cinema and people who love going to movie theaters. But if Paramount wins it will mean handing over yet another media empire to a billionaire with a ultra right-wing agenda. That seems much worse for the country and the world.
Netflix has won the bidding war to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery.

The sale is not yet finalized, as the U.S. Department of Justice could also interfere due to anti-trust concerns.

Seven's case is highlighted in this video, which, when I saw it a few years ago, finally put into words what I had often seen in sci-fi movies and shows that I otherwise enjoy: Born Sexy Yesterday.

I'm seeing some discourse claiming Predator Badlands is "critical of toxic masculinity," and although I liked the movie, sorry but no. It still glorifies dominator masculinity (as the ending proves). Learning to accept help when enacting violent domination rituals isn't actually a good critique.

I was trying to remember why I lost interest in stranger things...but I think this was a big reason (to be clear: I felt this way prior to the Pop Detective video, he just put it into a lovely, shareable video essay format)

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.
