I wrote 'Resisting AI' (subtitled 'An Anti-fascist approach to Artificial Intelligence') to help preempt the kind of convergence of far right politics and the tech sector that we are waking up to today. The struggle against fascistic solutionism continues. bristoluniversitypress.co.uk/resisting-ai

Facebook mums are a group that isn’t identified as vulnerable in the same way as teen boys etc. we need a Netflix show called “middle age” where it shows the right wing harm being pumped into homes via parenting bloggers etc. Teen boys don’t just find these ideas online, they hear them at home

Relatedly : in every adult online safety workshop I have done, I have said mumsnet and white mummy bloggers or Instagram families should worry you as much as Roblox or Snapchat.

Mumsnet and other parenting forums, FB groups etc are hotbeds of right wing radicalisation. We did warn you all..

To paraphrase Raoul Vaneigem, people who talk about Resonsible AI or Responsible Tech without referring to the need to restructure our political-economy for the common good and to socialise all infrastructure, such people have a corpse in their mouth.

Prediction: the notion of 'sovereignty' will be one of key technopolitical pH tests of 2026. Proposed as a solution to AI's centrifugal accelerationism, technonationalism is actually the desired outcome of current restructuring, and a safe space for Western masculine subjectivity.

This looks like a truly terrible take from Cory Doctorow which, in its apparently unabashed celebration of an "unstoppable coalition of activists, entrepreneurs and natsec hawks", is a mask-off moment for the liberal & statist politics of enshittifcation pluralistic.net/2026/01/01/3...

just so it's clear: this is the exact core function of genAI

Fascist government and climate deniers love it because it can produce the aesthetics of knowledge without any actual tendency towards truth. It is automated denialism.

Shame on every climate scientist promoting its use (there are lots)
Bob and I were among the hundreds of researchers that were supposed to conduct the 6th U.S. National Climate Assessment. Now it looks like they're gonna produce it with a few people and Grok? Communities need rigorous and accurate information about climate change. This will put communities at risk.

Thesis: people who are still on the AI hype-train are correct in sensing a systemic restructuring of the political and cultural order and are responding to it in ways that we have all been conditioned to do i.e. to desire our own repression.

Article 15 of the German constitution, allowing for the socialisation of means of production, was in part a reaction to the collaboration of industrial monopolies with the Nazi state. Looking at you, Big Tech 👀

O ponto central do debate sobre o consumo de energia e água dos datacenters é colocar a questão da ressocialização dos recursos energéticos e hídricos em benefício do bem comum.
The deeper point of debating the energy and water demands of data centres is to pose the question of re-socialising energy and water resources for the common good 🔋🌊✊

Professional societies keep beclowning themselves buying into a lie about what an LLM "summary" is. They are inherently counterfeit: not an epistemic product of the ideas in the source, but summary-shaped text linguistically based on *other* works (in the training corpus) that use related language.
This is one of the reasons I remain horrified by seeing @historians.org suggest "ways to use gAI" that included this:
