complex, longform narrative comics are best read as webcomics, because a schedule of regular updates encourages the reader to actively engage with the story, while graphic novels often are read too quickly to absorb all the thought and effort that went into them

i'm like four hours in and its much better than i expected but in ways that make the reaction more insane. this is in every possible way a janky late-00s unreal engine jrpg. every cutscene is Proper Nouns nonsense. combat is "experimental" (read: unbalanced). menus designed by an alien who hates you
