We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

there should be a word specific to the hollow creative yearning rooted in knowing you'll never be accomplished at a specific art form in precisely the way you desire, and a second word for a pioneering piece of art deriving from a failed imitation, and a third word for an aardvark on sabbatical
And I have never been able to write like the people who inspired me--I am nothing like Tolkien, Adams, or King. But I am so grateful that they helped me become myself.
Sounds right. I thought, Maybe I can do that, and I started trying.

There’s an Urdu name for a “Jack of all trades” that translates to “every talent Lord.” A Korean version is “eight direction beauty.” But my favourite name for someone who tries their hand at lots of different things is the Lithuanian Barbė devyndarbė. It means “Barbie nine jobs”
