No politician is every 'worthy' of your vote, because governance always requires hideous moral compromises.

But we must make A choice, and some choices are better than others

Having said this, I took the time today to pull together a digital version of a story my father told his sister about a time when he was significantly less responsible. No exact date here, but from context clues it's mid-late '50s, when my dad would have been in his mid-late 20s.

I have a video of the last lecture my dad gave before he passed, to a herp group, and one of the things he said was "Quit handling venomous snakes. I have too many friends who died too early for no real benefit"
there's currently massive unrest in the venomous snake hobbyist community bc some dumbfuck who owned an inland taipan in the US, encouraged free handling and didn't have anti-venom (insane) got bit and now he's in the hospital on a ventilator and also he posted this one (1) week ago

If Trump has them that intimidated then they need to retire. And MSNBC hosts piled on CNN earlier this year but their code of silence on this is gross. Have some courage and integrity. Is that too much to ask, or are you just too comfortable?

When botanist Richard Deakin examined Rome’s Colosseum in the 1850s, he found 420 species of plant growing in the ruins: cypresses and ilex, pea plants and more than 50 types of grasses.

But some flowers growing there mystified him. They were so rare they were found nowhere else in Europe.

If the people of Europe could throw off the most evil regime in history, we can work through Captain Dick Smack and the Dickettes.
Unity. Solidarity. Peace. Dignity. Freedom. Europe.

Today, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Many of its segments can be found all over Europe. What once was solid is now scattered, and what once was divided is now one.

Decent people staying on twitter is feeding the outrage discourse Musk wants. It's not possible to win a battle against the richest man in the world who's bought himself a personal play thing. The only way to defeat him is to leave. I've realised that very clearly this week.
