These are brown shirts, and this is Nazi behavior.

We are not in a fight between right and left anymore. This is a fight between Americans and those who would bend the knee to a king. If you care about the soul of this country, we have to stand for each other.
There's going to be news about a woman illegally detained and being forcely removed from a Coeur d'Alene Idaho Town Hall meeting taking place at the high school by men that would not identify themselves wearing plain clothes because she opposed the republican viewpoints.

Wow…I had to double, triple check to make sure this tweet from Senator Smith was real.

Rare to see a US Senator tweet like this.

Not complaining, just surprising.

It's hard to laugh at it but a kind of bleakly funny throughline in all this is that it's being overseen by people who 1) have never had any kind of real job, 2) don't know what these particular jobs are or might entail and haven't asked, and 3) are absolutely convinced that they are fake.
BREAKING: As Elon Musk said on X would be happening, I can now report that all federal employees are receiving an email directing them to provide “approx. 5 bullets of what you accomplished last week.”

It directs them not to send any classified information and is due by 11:59p Monday.

When people want to talk to me about the backlash against US higher ed but don't want to mention racism, this is one of the key reasons I become very annoyed

(Also the data used to create this post had its contract canceled this month so are won't be able to track things like this in the future)

☄️ 🔭 The impact probability of asteroid 2024 YR4 has dropped from 2.8% to 0.16%.

Thanks to new observations, Earth is now at the edge of our shrinking ‘uncertainty window.’

If this trend continues, the risk may soon reach 0%.

Our LSST Camera team has been busy!

Last week, after weeks of prep, the team moved Rubin's car-sized camera and installed on in the "camera rotator" that will connect it to the telescope.

This is the first time the camera has been physically connected to part of the telescope!

This is a shocking thing from AI discourse online.

People say to me "AI is the only thing helping me learn physics, I can't follow the textbooks. I know it's wrong a lot though."

Babe, you have not learned physics.
You used a garbage tool and now you think you know something. Which is worse!!
Just a reminder, if you come into my mentions to tell me that you use AI despite knowing that it (a) was created by stealing the work of me and all my friends, (b) is destroying the planet, (c) can’t do shit without significant errors…
