I am now offering a very small selection of prints for sale at www.matthewherron.net/client-galle....
These are signed, archivally mounted and matted, and ready to frame in standard sizes (11"x14" for 7"x10" prints, 16"x24" for 12"x18" prints). If any sell, I'll add more.

Here's bird that has no business being in Virginia: red-flanked bluetail, a native of Asia and northeastern Europe. I went out to Great Falls Park the first week of January to see this bird, and it was easy to find by the crowd of 30 or so birders following it around.

NSF

- Forced reorg

- POs down ~ 40% (DRP, most rotators not renewed, retirements)

- Forced move (and we have to pack and clean) to a building with no furniture, little to no conference space for panels, inadequate 🛜, …)

I personally love the boxes they gave us for packing.

SeaWorld: Woman knocked out by snowy egret on Mako coaster, not duck
Sea World is now asking a judge to throw Martin’s lawsuit out, saying the park has no legal responsibility for the Egret’s actions since it had no control over the bird.

Loggerhead shrike, Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, SC
That's the same perch as yesterday's mockingbird, and I really should have posted them in reverse order: twice, the mockingbird, previously nowhere to be seen, appeared out of nowhere to displace the shrike.

Seaside sparrows, Magothy Bay State Natural Area Preserve on the eastern shore of Virginia. These were along a narrow spit of land out into the marsh, accessible by a half-mile walk through some of the most mosquito-infested woods I've run into since Baxter SP in Maine.
