Human. Maybe. Who knows? I certainly don't.

Ok that's all.

This story stemmed from this question: what will be the human toll of Trump's climate rollbacks?

Turns there is emissions modeling that can help provide an estimate.

Using modeling from @rhg.com we estimated the additional death toll as high as 1.3 million

www.propublica.org/article/trum...
Trump’s Anti-Green Agenda Could Lead to 1.3 Million More Climate Deaths. The Poorest Countries Will Be Impacted Most.
Most of the people expected to suffer these temperature-related deaths live in poor countries in Africa and South Asia that are least prepared to cope with the increasing heat from climate change.

The important thing to bear in mind as Trump's popularity begins to wobble is that the disastrous economic consequences of the things he's done in the first 10 months of this term have not even *begun* to hit. We've been coasting on the fumes of the economy he inherited and soon they'll be gone.
my wife and her entire team were fired over Zoom from their program manager jobs at a local nonprofit Seattle hospital this Spring because Trump just stopped paying Medicaid reimbursements. and this is a relatively affluent urban center

we're really not prepared for what's coming
As a direct result of President Trump's Big Ugly Bill, almost 300 jobs will be cut from Providence Swedish's First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, and Issaquah hospitals and clinics. These are not the only layoffs we've seen in our health care system in Washington state in recent months.

"Downtown businesses supported free buses because they helped bring people downtown & decreased workers’ transit costs."

Ditto protected bike lanes. If you make travel easy, it turns out that people spend their time & money doing what they need & want to do--not fighting traffic.

Curmudgeonly compaint to ignore: Even as I recognize its necessity, I don't like "we're going to win" rhetoric. I think it implies "norms" can be restored, that there'll come a day when this is "over"--vs. a long struggle in which there're victories but no final victory, because this isn't a movie.

Still wild to me that Trump pointed in a woman’s face and said “Quiet, Piggy!” and literally no one who witnessed it was like “Whoa, there bro” either because they didn’t care or they weren’t surprised, or both.

The Trump administration is trying to sell federal student loans to private companies.

This sale would be a giveaway to wealthy insiders at the expense of working-class borrowers and taxpayers.

It’s a tremendous mistake, and I’m fighting back.

When I evacuated from the hurricane in 2005, the Red Cross offered us cash to help with expenses.

The Salvation Army offered us "a hot meal" which was just a smoked sausage soaked in cheap barbecue sauce with a stale slice of white bread we had to say how thankful we were while getting preached at.
I know it's a tad early but I know those bitches with the buckets will be out soon. Don't gove them a penny. The volunteers may not know but the salvation army is no ally and actively combative and harmful to many queer minorities especially during the holiday season

Guys, don't be afraid to unpublish your KDP ebooks. You don't want AI learning off your books in general but you REALLY don't want it learning from works you're not proud of.
Update: we're safe. I unpublished it before the pandemic. Thank gawd.

They’re a quiet Facebook behemoth, so this is good.
