John Brown did no wrong.
The Boston Tea Party was political violence.
Stonewall was a riot.

In case I somehow reach anyone with views that a civil war in the US would be acceptable or winnable, it is neither. Even if you think you are on the other side you need to understand this. People are still being murdered from the fallout of The Troubles.
The Troubles were a civil war and exactly what we'd get with a population 220 times larger.

TRUMP [after spending 5 minutes with Zohran]: surplus value, it’s a very wonderful thing, very wonderful, and they’re stealing it. Can you believe that?

We’re going to be looking very strongly at the bourgeoisie, what they’re up to

It helps that his message is almost always about saving lives or making them substantially better
One thing that works well for Zohran Mamdani is that he is maybe the most relentlessly on message politician I have ever seen.

How about we don't put bigots on the ticket?
If he ends up being the Democrat on the presidential ticket in 2028, you would rather vote republican or not vote at all because of this issue?? That’s the million dollar question. Not the hill I would die on and def not worth losing an election over!

Note for Democratic politicians: you don't have to start your condemnations of ICE raids with "We all want to catch violent criminals, but..." Just say "These raids have nothing to do with catching criminals and everything to do with terrorizing innocent minority groups."

Who is watching this racist prick? There are times when I can separate the artist from the art and times like this where the artist is core to the art.

A former Fetterman advisor texted me: “I think what comes across is the reality of who he is, which is a petulant child who never became a man and is always the victim of his own narrative—even though he’s never had a real job and lives off his dad’s money. It's all pretty sad and pathetic."

I support talking to him, lifting sanctions on Syria, even giving them essentially feee money to be honest. I don't support the US attempting to drag him into the American-led regional security architecture which necessitates the abandonment of Syrian sovereignty and subservience to Israel and GCC.
I am a Resist Lib at heart so this is coming from a place of love, but I'm increasingly frustrated with the public outrage (real or feigned) about Trump meeting al-Sharaa "who fought against US troops" in the White House as if that is somehow morally worse than JD Vance or Graham Platner in 2003

What the fuck dude? Lean in to how the freedom you and I helped defend allows us to be queer in a free society. That doesn't take away from an economic message. Learn literally anything from the last election cycle. Quit closing the fucking door behind us.
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25

A not-important thing these email drops have nevertheless left me thinking about: Do people type this way? Even on phones, I don’t get it. Why the random spaces? Is this text all copy-pasted from WordPerfect 5.1? I don’t care about people typing informally in emails and texts, but I’m so confused.

We love this story here in Oregon. It's basically a state holiday. My local minor league baseball team, the Emeralds, temporarily changed their name to the Exploding Whales and the graphic they came up with for it is incredible.

One of the things I like best about Boots is that the narration is largely true and reliable because everyone on that show is lying. Some big lies, some small lies, everyone. Like you'd lose the plot if it weren't a direct narrative.

What? The organization created as a knee jerk reaction with wildly broad powers and minimal oversight needs some reform?
Anyway the best messaging is probably to gear it at DHS writ large, because the whole department has got to go
