You do not have to consume every single tiny piece of bad news in order to be a good person. It’s ok to miss things. Traumatizing yourself isn’t the same as activism. Bearing witness to the point that you’re paralyzed with fear and horror and fury isn’t going to help us get through this.
Remember their goal is to terrorize us. And social media is a fantastic way to spread terror. We don’t have to help them.
Based on the vibes of my timeline today I’m feeling like the next two weeks are probably gonna be a really good time to reduce social media use as much as possible. Because YIKES.

Two things, both true:
1) 200 is not a wholly-unprecedented number of agents and this is likely to be the kind of operation that doesn’t round up people so much as scare them.
2) it still scares them and part of the point is to scare them.

This is Trump using immigration enforcement tactics to score political points. This isn’t first time ICE has done this, but a terrorizing PR strategy means many ppl in Chicago won’t go to work or show up to school this week. This chilling effect hurts all of us.
