What books could this be about a mysterious land of secure places… Bastions you might call them.

More on Monday.
I (Tony) put my finger in one of these so you’d know I was helping

I would estimate about 1000 of these are gone next week

This whole list, but esp C.
This set of observations is produced by my scrolling Reddit and otherwise listening to people talk about "how to write."

A) there is no requirement that any of your characters has any sort of "arc" let alone a redemption.

B) there is also no requirement that your fiction has a plot.

More people should be pushing back on hype cycles, and few people are positioned to do that like tabletop press, reviewers, and awards programs.

The afternoon after the 2016 election, I was the off-camera interviewer for Ashley Biden as part of a video series on non-profit management.

Also, I was once on a malfunctioning elevator with someone who turned out to be Anna Quindlen.
I bumped into a ginger man right by where the Dartmouth graduation ceremony was to be held next morning. He apologized very nicely.

I turned to my friend. “Was that an alum of our fraternity? He looked so familiar!”

She goggled. “Honey, that was Conan O’Brien!”
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

If you're of the opinion that a small or indie publisher owes you a PoD version of book because you want a PoD version, you should try getting better opinions.
Here's a big ick. People who juat write "POD" in a DTRPG comment, especially if the book is already offset printed.

DAY 12, GAME 9: Sherwood from @rrookstudio.bsky.social is a small RPG that lets players be outlaw archers, monks, heroes, and wanderers...then gives them arcane talents and sorcerous rituals to make things interesting. The GM section is a bit light, but still lots of fun. r-rook.itch.io/sherwood

Citation is easy. It's a couple of lines on your credits page.

Citation is encouragement. Every time somebody else acknowledges me this way, I feel like the work is worthwhile.

Citation is introspection. You are marking your trajectory, the ports you have called at, as a maker.

Apocalypse World is a genuinely fantastic game, even if it wasn't also wildly influential on the kinds of games that I really enjoy playing.

I haven't played it in a few years, but I still think about the game, the characters, and the way PbtA games in general work almost all the time.
Here it is. The final 24 hours. You've helped coax banked embers into a steady flame. Tell me, what is one thing you'll bring with you into What-Comes-Next? Seeds? Thread? A good kitchen knife? What will you make of what's left? Together, let's light up the world.
