A broad popular front against fascism means a broad popular front against fascism, not “I’ll only oppose fascism if I get what I want out of it.” A lot of leftists are hit dogs hollering on this because Liz fucking Cheney got that and they still don’t.
ah yeah “we are literally above critique and have never been wrong,” this is very smart, this definitely won’t backfire
Never in the history of modern political theory has a liberal had any substantive critique to offer a leftist.

How about you go donate more money to the Democrats, lemme know what that does for you

Jeg titta litt på tilskuersnitt og årsmøte-stemmer

Mot-klubbene hadde et samla tilskuersnitt på 113 678
For-klubbene hadde 26 983

Årsmøtestemmer var litt vanskeligere. Jeg mangler VIF, Aafk og Åsane (gi gjerne lyd om noen finner). Men interessant uansett: Ganske overveldende tall

American journalism created a Watergate-infused culture of uncovering malfeasance that politicians were trying to hide — call it “Deep Throat syndrome”. Trump realized that “it’s not the crime, it’s the coverup” actually means that, if there’s no coverup, then it can’t be a crime.

I know we're rightfully yelling at the Biden admin but we also need to bring up how they just discuss this shit with journalists who sit on it for book deals while the "anonymous source due to the sensitive nature of this topic" leaks Ukrainian magazine depth and NYT immediately reports it
I scream into the void but the void went to yale and starts lecturing me on escalation management

I've also encountered a big issue with the consistency of definitions of disinformation and misinformation, which are used interchangeably, which has allowed bad actors to exploit the confusion for their own ends. I've been using the definitions as per Claire Wardle's work:

My personal opinion is this is at least partly fuelled by a fundamental error in the approach in the counter-disinformation on focusing on foreign actors rather than treating information disorder as a societal issue. An extensive piece on that to come.
Still wild to me that so many "savvy" folks on left and right have bought into the idea that online misinformation is overblown and doesn't really matter. From lies about migrants to transgender people to crime to election denial to climate denial, it's literally driving our country's politics.

the Ukrainian parliament has just recognized the Circassian genocide committed by russia in 1863-1878. it is one of the worst colonial crimes in human history that made 98% of Circassians refugees, massacred 2 million and erased Circassia, one of Europe’s oldest states.

Hva slags insentiver ligger bak?
Så lenge klubber som Glimt og Fredrikstad samt forbundet holder på som de gjør i dette spørsmålet, vil ikke «norsk fotball komme styrket ut av denne debatten»

Ukrainians talk a lot about "decolonizing Russia studies" and westerners eye roll at it but this is what they're talking about because basically every single guy newsrooms hire to cover Eastern Europe is a russophile shit out by these programs with the expected biases and blind spots

If you look up "Central Asian Studies" you will find departments but if you look a little closer, you'll almost always find that they're a subsection of the Russia studies department because these people believe study of that region cannot stand on its own

For the Slavic studies thing, it is genuinely a problem how "slavic" is used interchangeably with "Russian" and that warps the people these departments attract and the kind of priorities they establish because if you're studying something that was once part of the Russian empire, it's shoved there

When Russia does something bad, it's a cornered dog, It's doing it out of fear. It's for deterrence, and it was forced to do it. When we even contemplate responding in kind, it's highly escalatory, reckless, and shortsighted.
