The wonks think history bends to charts and confidence intervals, but the last hundred yards aren’t graphed—they’re clawed through mud, smoke, and screaming metal. You don’t calculate victory, you drag it bleeding across the finish line with grit under your nails and God in your teeth.
What a load of horseshit. "Victory is built on 85%" stopping 85% of a mass raid still means you die.

Immigration is such a "big problem" to them so their solution is to create a humanitarian crisis that will make this supposed concern much worse.

Israel is a normal state that should be held to account the same as any other state. For the atrocities it has committed sanctions must be placed on it. It must also pay reparations to the people of Gaza and the West Bank. If it shall not comply, it should be cut off from the world.
On foreign policy I’d say the Democrats should aspire to elect Bellingcat Liberals, which is basically the same as a NatSec liberal but capable of seeing obvious facts about Israel

I don't understand Trump's obsession with steam catapults. Why tf would you want the Navy to deal with pressurized oil and hot steam systems that keep putting uneven strain on the airframes of aircraft thus worsening their aging?

Long time no post, today I have this rare image for you guys. This is a photo of Rockwell's Experimental Hover Vehicle for the KKV Hover Interceptor Test (KHIT). Following the start of SDI tech development in 1983, the USAF started working on future tech that would go into space-based interceptors.

counterpoint: look at this modern battleship under construction
Modern tanks have frontal arcs that are more protected (on a RHA equivalent) than Battleships of yore and they are still getting penetrated frontly by the cones of magic.
In reality, your armor belt doesn't matter so much when I can fly a 500 lb warhead straight into your bridge

I know I'm late to the modern Battleship discussion thing, but it's a very stupid idea. This is the warhead from an AS-4 KITCHEN / Kh-22 Burya. It weighs ≈1000kg. That shaped charge looks somewhere between 500 and 750mm. At a conservative estimate of 2 cone diameters you cannot carry enough armor.

Yeah. I used to believe we had to beat him "the right way." But here's the thing: We fucking lost. And because we lost, trans kids get to grow up in fear and millions of Africans lost their AIDS medication and underequipped Ukrainian troops were overrun and at some point, it's like...
I mean, we should recognize the turf we're playing on. Yes, there is no way to distinguish the age of that silhouette. But, also, yes, we should draw every inference we can to paint this kn the harshest light.

mahan is great at big-picture strategy but a terrible prophet of what was coming next. he thought the new hotness might be torpedo boats, by which he meant little steam boats with bombs strapped to the front

Then read more theory. It is funny that even when naval warfare is depicted it is usually always heavily gun focused. This is something that stopped being all that relevant in terms of engaging the enemy and killing him quickly after the aircraft carrier was created.
