I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them.

I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.

64% of the richest 10% in Britain got most of their money via inheritance, not by working for it.

Such as Allsopp, the eldest daughter of Baron Hindlip, chairman of Christies, who got her start in TV via her art history degree, which she studied at ... Christies.

But sure. More austerity.

This is CNN, a channel I really enjoy when I'm in the US. I wonder if American journalists are aware of how completely insane they look to the rest of the world. How utterly detached their narrative is from everyone else's. edition.cnn.com/2025/08/19/p...

I hope other companies are paying attention to the M&S situation. They bring a vexatious complaint with no substance at all, you issue a cowardly apology and completely sell out your employee, they reject your apology and call for a boycott anyway. You can't reason with unreasonable people.

If this had been taught in the UK for the last 2 decades, Boris Johnson would have got nowhere near 10 Downing St, Brexit would never have happened, and Scotland would be independent.

Can we PLEASE stop naming this bullsh*t "alternative *medicine*"? It's not medicine. It's like naming alchemy "alternative chemistry" or flat-earth crap "alternative geography". If it has no basic science behind it, it belongs before the 18th century. It's middle ages superstition, nothing else.

This is an absolutely disastrous framing to adopt. “Immigration beings great gains but it needs to be controlled to maximise benefits” was/is right there on the table. Instead they have opted to lead with the strongest possible “Nigel Farage is right, don’t vote for him” headline.
If you thought the PM’s speech was punchy, his foreword to the immigration white paper says high net migration has done “incalculable damage” to the country.

That is a serious shift in tone for a Labour government/party.
