I can’t quite put my finger on it, but this is kiki/bouba
I don't deny that dogs can sometimes be quite lovely but what I will say is I don't trust their opinions. If a cat recommended me an album it had bought, I'd totally check it out. If a dog did the same, I'd promise to listen to the album, out of politeness, with no intention of actually doing so

"your passport says you're 5'7" but you were 1'8" when you were born so that's what we're listing" this is what that sounds like
I spit on the reputation of the U.S. Supreme Court, not that it can get much more degraded than it has already become by the repulsive actions of its disgusting GOP members.

You can hear the transphobic sneer in these words.

I can attest that this is a uniquely lovely group of people to work with. The bit about taking care of each other is not just marketingspeak; it's really at the core of how we operate as a company. And the work itself is super satisfying. There's a reason I haven't job hunted in 17 years!

Healthcare folks, you may already know this, but your trans patients can 100% tell when you misgender them on a BMP/CMP order.

Update! We made it back from Canada, 100% without incident. If this change has even happened, then United must have a transparent procedure in place that handles it automatically.

I wouldn't be surprised if it actually hasn't been implemented yet, though.
There's basically no real reporting on this, just a smattering of poorly sourced articles, some obviously AI, being spread in a panic. So it's good to have a measured voice summing it up.

Still, it's gonna be real fun flying my kids back from Canada, isn't it.
We want all international travelers who use a passport with an “X” gender marker to know that your identity doc is still legal & valid.

This is huge news!
UBC has developed an enzyme that can convert donor organs to type O, making them universal.
Normally a using organs of the wrong blood type causes the recipient's immune system to attack the organ, leading to failure.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

I'm just thinking about how Mamdani talks (and defends) trans people for two minutes more than the democrats did at the last convention. And the video is only two minutes and five seconds long.
I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Very weird to sit down to watch my first movie in theatres since leaving L.A. for Vancouver, set in a fantasy world explicitly meant to be modelled after San Francisco, and recognize it as clearly having been filmed ... in Vancouver

Telling how, when talking about the current U.S. situation for trans folks, almost every cis person I've talked to in Canada has known exactly what I'm saying and expressed dismay and empathy, while the neighbor we've known for years in SoCal just said "I don't follow politics, it's too sad"

This might be the one piece of news in the past few days that has made me genuinely, unequivocally happy. 😊
There have been two hosts in the history of Reading Rainbow. The Legend of Literacy, LeVar Burton! And... me, Mychal Threets, a librarian 🥹🤯

I am a reader, a librarian because LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow made us believe and see we belong in books, we belong everywhere ✨

Friendly older cashier at the Safeway leaned over conspiratorially and asked if I was trans, then said “me too!” and gave me a fist bump. All in all, a pretty delightful introduction to Vancouver.

I, a constituent, am dismayed to see @cisneros.house.gov voted for this. The most favorable possible explanation is that these people just don't know who it is they're honoring, and even that requires extremely poor judgment.

There's nothing to honor in a life of rank bigotry.
Everything wrong with the Democratic Party in a nutshell.

95 House Democrats (including Jeffries!) just voted to honor the life & legacy of Charlie Kirk.

Only 58 voted no.

38 voted present.
