The #SFGiants do not have much to show for the 7 drafts that Michael Holmes has served as the scouting director. That No. 4 pick becomes extremely important for the organization and really needs to be a can't-miss selection. It could be a chance at redemption for Holmes.

That’s like a 88-90 win team as it stands. Pretty optimistic!
Here's an early look at the ZiPS x @fangraphs.com depth chart for the next ZiPS team, the San Francisco Giants.

The No. 4 pick carried a slot value of $8.7M in 2025, and that amount is due to see an increase next year. The draft order does revert back to reverse standings after the first round #SFGiants

Between Josuar Gonzalez, Luis Hernandez (hopefully), and the N0. 4 pick, the #SFGiants farm system has a chance to really move in the right direction over the next couple of seasons.

The Giants moved up to the fourth overall pick via the MLB Draft lottery. They had originally been No. 12 in the pre-Draft order, so that’s a huge jump for them.

Randy Winn, fittingly, served as their Draft lottery representative.

I’m told Giants third baseman Matt Chapman is in the conversation for joining Team USA in the WBC. There are all kinds of layers of approval for these things, so it’s far from a done deal.

Buster Posey faces a defining choice: Could the Giants trade Bryce Eldridge?
As Buster Posey and the San Francisco Giants’ brass looks at ways to improve their roster, a key consideration is whether they’d be willing to swap Bryce Eldridge to land a major player.

The Matt Williams trade was wildly unpopular when it went down in 1996. Giants general manager Brian Sabean immediately had to defend it by proclaiming, "I am not an idiot." He acquired a future Hall of Famer in Jeff Kent in the deal, so I think he won that battle.

No one hit more home runs as a second baseman than Jeff Kent. Now, he’s heading to the Hall.

Barry Bonds received less than five votes, which means he won’t be eligible for the next contemporary era ballot in 2028. He’ll have to wait until at least ‘31 to appear again.

A bit of an odd connection here, but Luciano was considered the No. 2 prospect in that 2018 - 2019 IFA signing period. Diego Cartaya was viewed as the No. 1 prospect and signed with the Dodgers. He is now with the Giants organization.
