Thank you all for another fun year. It's not the only reason, but getting to talk to you all about baseball and occasionally being the bridge between analytics and fans is one of the reasons I have no wish to work full time for a team. And thanks for putting up with my nonsense.

This is the point every year right before New Years where i suddenly think "oh crap, the year's getting one closer to the year on my tombstone" which then fades away when I see the next very stupid thing for me to get mad about.

Remember: If you believe that RA9-WAR is some magic "pure" measure of individual pitcher performance, you necessarily are saying there's no defensive difference between Pete Crow-Armstrong and Jo Adell. If pitchers get 21 runs of credit from PCA saving runs, you can't turn around and credit him too.

Thankfully, it took more than 20 years, but people have slowly come around to the idea that I may have the ability to access things that I own that are on my computer that I own.

In the wake of the Pop-Tarts Bowl, I want to reiterate that I think Pop Tarts are far too sweet when frosted, and far, far prefer the unfrosted strawberry or brown sugar & cinnamon. Sweet things shouldn't be so cloyingly sweet that they call into question the concept of human agency.

One thing that amuses me from DMs: there's this belief that I have a Serious Dan mode for when it's time to talk serious business or discuss something with front offices.
The truth: there is no serious Dan. I delight in the weirdness of existence and embrace the clownshoed void.
