New "North & South" with @dylanohernandez.bsky.social -- 49ers reality, Dodgers' next step, LA yawning about Rams & Chargers.

Also, I didn't expect to get sentimental about what the Rose Bowl means to Old LA, but:

Discussed on this episode:

Should the 49ers take the ball if they win the toss instead of deferring like they always do? Deferring is based trusting your defense on the first series then having a possession advantage after that.

But if you don't have a good defense... can lead to a fast 0-14.
New "49ers +/-" with @mattbarrows.bsky.social -- hitting the wall against the Rams, still in the playoff race, likely expecting Purdy back this week ... what does this mean? (And some guesses about the offseason.)

FYI, the 49ers had NINE 400+ yard games last season -- while mostly not having McCaffrey. In a terrible season.

Shanahan + a healthy Purdy = tons of yards

Doesn't guarantee wins obviously, but it's not nothing.
49ers' two biggest yardage games this season:

* 407 in the win over the Rams in LA in Week 5
* 393 yesterday vs. the Rams

But the Rams gained 456 and 401 (2nd and 3rd most vs. 49ers this season) in those games.

Shanahan and McVay love going at each other's defenses.

Definitely. It's the 7th seed play-in tournament.
Niners play the Panthers and Bears, too. Might be the most important games the rest of their season.

Great stuff from Lacob, Guber, Welts & Curry via @dannyemerman.bsky.social in this piece looking back 15 years since Lacob & Guber bought the Warriors >>

‘How could you have more fun?’ Joe Lacob, Peter Guber, and 15 years owning the Warriors
A decade and a half after buying the franchise, a dreamer and an industrialist reflect on why their partnership’s worked, and what comes next.

I don't know if this is the most riveting playoff race in NFL history, but it's something... (and look at that conference record for the 49ers, which definitely help for tiebreakers):

The 49ers were definitely not one player away from beating the Rams -- or jumping into the race to win the NFC -- on Sunday.

Kawakami: No magic trade could’ve changed the 49ers’ 2025 destiny
The 49ers are a mediocre team, and no move ahead of the trade deadline could have turned them into a Super Bowl contender.

After tonight's win, Jim Harbaugh now has the 9th-highest winning percentage in NFL history. He's one spot ahead of George Halas.

61-28-1 (.683).

Sunday's loss was more proof that there wasn't a magic trade out there that could've changed the 49ers' win-lose-win-lose-win-lose 2025 destiny

Jauan Jennings, asked how he'll respond to losing that fumble today:

"You won’t see another fumble, how about that?"
November 10, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Most surprising statement of the day? Shanahan opened his presser, as usual, with the injury list from the game.

And:

"No injuries."

(Though as always with the 49ers, gotta check back tomorrow to know for sure.)

Game over. I still can't believe the 49ers won n LA five weeks ago.

No Shanahan/Garoppolo postgame hug, if you were checking.

That was odd -- the scoreboard operator didn't know they ruled the Kittle play a TD, so they ran the clock as if the 2-point try was a real play. And fooled me by doing this.

Well they covered McCaffrey

Looked like Verse just jumped through the line. Couldn't tell if the kick was low, but Verse was right there.

That was a pure professional pass and catch from Stafford to Adams. Can't do much about that.

Oops Shula: CMC 2 catches for 32 yards on that drive
I wondered what the hell Rams DC Chris Shula was doing last game by letting CMC catch so many passes with so much room to run.

Today at halftime: CMC 3 catches for 12 yards on 4 targets.
November 9, 2025 at 11:14 PM
21-14... yeah the 49ers are playing this like it was a 10 a.m. start and they woke up about an hour ago.
November 9, 2025 at 11:13 PM
This is for all the Furious 49ers Bros on the other platform, but might as well put it here, too:

Even if the 49ers traded every future draft pick they had, they STILL probably wouldn't be a Super Bowl level defense with Bosa & Warner out. They'd be better, but the risk would be enormous.

Keion White sack. If they'd only traded for him a week later than they did, ALL WOULD BE GREAT.

(Because Furious Fans only care about the deadline. Not the week before.)
