Geesh, @mattbarrows.bsky.social and I basically guessed all of the 49ers' injury updates correctly on this episode ... what will we talk about later this week? More injury stuff, I'm sure.

And ways the 49ers could (theoretically) pull off an upset.

LB Tatum Bethune sustained a significant groin injury and will be out for the postseason, coach Kyle Shanahan said. Eric Kendricks steps into the starting role.

Brock Purdy finishes the regular season No. 2 in QBR at 73.1, behind Drake Maye's 77.2.

Jalen Hurts was 20th at 55.9.

Purdy was 8th in passer rating at 100.5.

Hurts was 12th at 98.5.

49ers' best chance on Sunday is if Purdy carries them... and Hurts can't answer.

Ha, I booked my trip to Philadelphia exactly banking for this and did NOT jinx it. Maybe the first time ever.

Eagles lose and get the 3 seed.

49ers at Eagles next weekend. Best guess is it'll be Sunday afternoon/evening.

Just watched the DVR of the Warriors' win last night and it was more evidence of something I've been thinking...

-Draymond remains their best option at C, especially to close games

-But their best lineups have Butler at PF

The 49ers definitely aren't the most talented team in the NFC playoffs. Which was underlined over and over on Saturday. But they've been under-talented for a while--and they're still alive.

That's the whole theme of this season. And now postseason.

The 49ers lost the game, the 1 seed and the golden road to the Super Bowl on Saturday. What can they do now? "Embrace the s--" out the hard way"

Can the 49ers fight their way through the hard road? ‘Oh, we’re ready for it’
Kyle Shanahan’s team is on the razor’s edge, just like it has been all season.

Shanahan on losing the 1 seed:

"This team’s been through a lot this year. Now we’ve got to do it the hard way. And we’ll embrace the shit out of the hard way."

Seattle is the better team and showed it. Still amazing the 49ers got into position to take the 1 seed... couldn't do it with the accumulation of injuries and Seattle's overall solidness.

49ers' defense just hasn't been able to set the edge against the Seahawks' running game.

Sorta huge play there

Well it was sitting there
And I'll say it again: Really think the 49ers need a force a turnover at some point in this half.

Seahawks have the best defense the 49ers have faced in a long while and it absolutely shows.

You can tell Shanahan is adjusting to it with the misdirection plays. That haven't worked. But he hasn't wanted to go right at this defense. Especially without No. 71.

49ers' long run so far is 10 yards -- Purdy's third-down scramble.

Once again, the Seahawks sprint into 49ers' territory... then stall. 49ers living dangerously but still living.

Seattle had some issues once they got into 49ers' territory... easily could be a three-score game right now. And might eventually be that.

But the 49ers get the second-half kickoff so..

Current yards:
Seahawks 193
49ers 39

49ers are very fortunate to only be down 10-0. And they'd better score here.
