The trans community’s trust in the NHS’ new puberty blocker trial is low and I can’t help but wonder whether they could have prevented that by involving ANY trans people in its design or operation, and maybe not involving several people who have attended conferences of anti-LGBTQ hate groups

Compare and contrast the Government language.

£3,750 EV grant on a £35k car: ‘helping families’.

Cycle to Work: ‘subsidising leisure’.

And yet cycling delivers TEN TIMES the impact of electric cars for reaching net zero. It’s almost like narrative, not data, is driving policy.

the hubris of Mcdonalds floors me, why pay 20-25 dollars to sit in a crowded fast food joint to eat meat whose DNA lines up with what the neighbouring lumber yard is selling instead of the same to get table service at a semi-nice local place down the hill, who are actually making good quality food?

I keep thinking how absurd it is with the administration’s polling in the gutter that the Secretary of Transportation went to the public to announce that, “travelers should really clean themselves up a bit.”

Legendary stuff.

One of the cruelest tricks society played on creative people was planting the idea that being proud of your work is somehow unseemly and egotistical.

You made a thing! You like it! You SHOULD be proud of it. Brag all you want!

I keep getting emails saying "Black Friday is early! Buy now!"

Hell no. I am purposely not buying things on Black Friday because of all these shitty retailers that abuse their employees while their C-suite takes huge profits for themselves. Shopping small & local again for Christmas this year.

I think that Fallout 1's subversiveness is deeply underrated. Like how it has giant scorpions and mutants and ghouls and if you ask a doctor, "So, radiation did this?" and he goes, "What? No, fuck no, that's stupid" and if you run into actual radiation it's HORRIFYINGLY REALISTIC DEPICTION

Disobeying illegal orders cannot be sedition. The Uniform Code of Military Justice, article 92, requires service members to follow LAWFUL orders. If an order is illegal, they have a duty to DISOBEY. Obeying an illegal order can result in criminal liability.

the US is unbelievably fucked. a friend casually mentioned that last month she got T-boned by a guy running a red light and in her concussed state she was arguing with the EMTs to not take her to the hospital because she couldn't afford to pay. absurd that car dependence is a mandatory life gamble.
