People in the GOP made fun of Nancy Pelosi's husband being nearly beaten to death with a hammer.

You cannot shame these people. You cannot demand they adhere to social norms.

They gleefully, willfully spread misinformation about attacks they provoke.

They can only be punished.

Rep. Melissa Hortman, killed in targeted attack, was a champion for Minnesotan families
Hortman worked closely with Gov. Tim Walz to enact policies that prioritized children and expanded protections for abortion and gender-affirming care

Head Start, an early childhood education program for low income families, is on the chopping block. Growing up, my own mom was an aide with the program; it’s helped countless young mothers, including the one who tells her story here.

I used to select Dem primary candidates based on policy.

Now I will aggressively try to destroy any Dem who says "we need to look forward not backward" and fervently support anyone who says "I will see these motherfuckers prosecuted and jailed if it's the last thing I do."

I thought that for a long time. Historians use of letters being replaced by instant messenger conversations will be hard to access if they are even stored.
Historians are going to have better records from the 19th century than the 21st, is my most medievalist futurist prediction.
We won't just lose the archives they want us to lose but also the ones they couldn't back up properly.

I always hated the "this is the greatest country in the world" refrain, but it is striking to me that the things they are killing in government — an unrivaled scientific research enterprise, incredible public lands, etc — are some of the only things that made such a statement vaguely defensible.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Elon Musk's plan to cut the Social Security Administration's staff by 50% would cause 37,000 more Americans to die each year waiting to receive their disability benefits while the average wait time to collect these benefits would jump to 412 days.

That is beyond unacceptable.

Yeah its been the plan for a long time. The failure to deal with the revenue issues for the last sixty years will only help them gut the program.
Trump's gross lies about Social Security are him planting the seeds to dismantle the program and gut it.
