I think my problem with the endless parade of reboots and sequels is that we’re then never getting to watch stories about the present. Every story is about the past. James Bond is a cold war spy. Sherlock Holmes is wrapped up in the hope that late Victorian science can help solve crimes.

looks like we could be in for a nasty flu season. one easy way to reduce your risk is to wear an N95 as much as possible when you're indoors.
obviously your level of protection drops the more you take it off (eg to take a drink) but every little bit helps. and you don't want the flu. or covid!

this is a show about how it's cool to have friends, and how there's lots of different ways that you can be friends with someone, and how everyone loves their friends and their friends love them

Something I’ve noticed is there seems to be a sort of pervasive assumption that the status quo has gravity. That there’s a natural, comfortable way things should be and that deviations from the normal state of the world will correct themselves in time.

Some breaking news: in a special Vancouver Police Board meeting only announced over the weekend, the police board has requested a $50 million increase to their budget for 2026.
