at 17 I had a fantasy of getting to pull kids around in a bike kid trailer. 12 yrs later the dream was finally realized w my own kids. I initially sewed the straps in so their tiny bodies were secured. It's been once or twice a day ever since. truly a highlight of my life

This is one group's estimate of biomass by taxa, represented as a "Voronoi diagram" which is similar to a pie chart.

Take a minute to take it in, and I'd love to hear what aspect of this you find surprising. For example, amphibians and reptiles are negligible biomass on this scaling. 🧪

the best part about the sand shrimp is the feet I'd say. since they're running around in the sand all day, they stay real soft and don't get a chance to build up a hard crust

it’s so cool that we have a weapons lobby and it’s more powerful than most and there’s nearly no one running on pointing at it and going “look at that what the fuck is that thing”

Come and take my gun! seriously though it means very little to me. take all my material shit. there is too much. free me. perhaps I could keep a sewing needle and a cup.

tbh a cool thing about being a teenager in the 2000s is that it is *very* hard to fool myself into thinking things were better then
Times weren’t better back then. You were just in your carefree youth and are missing that time now. We tend to claim that music, fashion, TV, and society peaked when you were in your teens. It’s not the world it’s you that you are melancholic about.

None of this stuff really matters for climate change. The big items for us as individuals are:

- how much & how clean we drive & travel
- how much & how clean we heat & cool our homes (and we should heat and cool as much as we need to be safe)
- the carbon intensity of what we eat
- do we vote

during the Philly ride of silence, several people in cars yelled at us and many more honked aggressively at us because they were impatient for us to pass

I think that spoke volumes about why the ride of silence is needed

no more bicycle deaths 🖤

I can assure the very fortunate entrepreneurs that the dollar value of any social benefits divided by amt of time spent applying for and maintaining them is a fraction of what they make whilst vacationing.
Guy who became a billionaire for starting Floogle and selling it to DingDongIncorporated talking to a guy who got billions for starting ButlerJPEGarchive: its insane how people get food stamps. Like they just get money for nothing.
