I don’t think there will be any political pain, but I also think the only point of raising a rounding error is to create the political space to do things that the people who like “a mansion tax on homes over £2mn” won’t like. Will they? Doubt it.
A ‘mansion tax’ on homes worth over £2m to raise about £400/450m a year is everything wrong with a ‘smorgasbord’ approach.
Lots of potential political pain for a public finances rounding error. Coupled with a new weird cliffedges.
