Silver lining--the fact that he's so often called Static Shock shows how much mainstream recognition he was able to get through the cartoon. Maybe it's time for another one.
If I had a nickel for every time one of my favorite characters associated with DC Comics were consistently referred to by the wrong name due to irreparable damage caused by at least one respective piece of media surrounding them, I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t much but annoying it keeps happening

Said this off and on all year but it’s remarkable given how long we’ve lived in an era of “synergy” just how much DC’s year has been a rare display of a company making almost nothing but right moves to maximize the success of a big multimedia push.

Mask of the Phantasm is a masterpiece, serving as both a Batman origin story and a defining adventure. All of the threads of his life, personal or otherwise, come together and clash explosively amid the ruins of a future that will never be.

Right-wing influencers made up that Democrats celebrated Charlie Kirk’s murder, and tried an up-is-down lie that they’d never celebrate political violence, then Trump smashed though that Kool Aid Man style—as per his wont—so the influencers are now pretending that’s unusual and that they dislike it.

"I Am The Night" is great because it's essentially Batman making peace with the idea that he's in an eternal superhero story and that the only option he has to is to keep fighting an impossible war forever.
Batman: The Animated Series made its Fox Sunday prime-time debut on this day (Dec. 13) in 1992 with "I Am The Night." Seeking to boost its Sunday night viewership, and noting the acclaimed cartoon's superb daytime ratings, Fox gave BTAS a swing in primetime! #BatmanTAS #Batman

AI is NOT inevitable. Keep not using it. Uninstall Copilot from your computer. Refuse to use programs bogged down with it. Complain loudly about it when they shove it into the programs you use. We can starve the slop machines.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."
Analysis: OpenAI is a loss-making machine, how can it survive?
Don't call it a bubble! Loss-making monster OpenAI is on the hook for $1.4 trillion (with a T) in compute commitments. How can this go on?

Brock's "jelly donut" line is likely the most discussed piece of dialogue in the entire Pokémon anime localization.

Funnily enough, that's not actually the first or only time it's used. It would show up a dozen episodes earlier in "Here Comes the Squirtle Squad."

I love the Hunter x Hunter manga. I love how it can shift from hyper detail to a borderline expressionistic sparseness that hones you in on a character or a moment. And I tend to prefer it to either anime adaptation.
