i want to note that the christofascist attack on "porn" isn't actually an attempt to make the internet or the world child safe in any real way. these people abuse the fuck out of children and oppose sex education largely because it makes children able to identify and name that abuse

Not only has Columbia agreed to give political commissars oversight over admissions, including a mandatory annual data transfer, they did so while agreeing to language emphasizing that nothing in the deal prevents the government from launching more investigations, reviews, and litigation.

I wrote my master's thesis in grad school about human trafficking panics and disinformation and why evangelical Christians are often at the center of spreading said disinformation and how it ultimately both reinscribes purity culture as well as ushers in theocracy so this news cycle is fun for me
