A short fairy tale about rational dialogue and neighborly suffering—as well as intention versus impact.
Elephant and Mouse: A Fairy Tale

It's always someone else's fault... 🙈🙉🙊
A horrifying case of child abuse BUT this has nothing to do with homeschooling. The school was aware of the child's malnutrition yet they never bothered to report the family until he was withdrawn from school. How long did this child suffer because teachers failed in the mandatory reporting?

I have had one Bible my entire life: an old, tattered NIV given to me by my parents when I was a young child. I decided I should finally get one that *I* actually want (wild, I know). I put this one on my Christmas wishlist and my little brother Garrett got it for me. 💕

Even though white evangelicals mocked and ridiculed the “abolish the police” movement, white parental rights advocates have no problem using and manipulating the Black-led “abolish family policing systems” movement.

There’s clearly a much larger story to tell about how our institutions have worked, sometimes in concert, to enable and cover up abuse of children.

I recently read about the lack of regulation in homeschooling and how that opens up the potential for abuse. And ever since I have been thinking about the connection between conservative evangelical support for Trump and the government’s protection of sexual predators.

I was listening to @straightwhitejc.bsky.social yesterday & the topic was the way evangelicals talk about those of us who’ve left. The Eva world refuses to actually listen & instead attacks. It’s a narcissistic system that cannot tolerate criticism. The homeschool subculture is part of this system

While adultism has led to today’s anti-child world, it is nothing new. Adults have prioritized and privileged themselves since the beginning of time.
Adultism in the Bible
The Bible itself features several great examples of adultism.

Whereas homeschool alumni had to spend our actual childhood acting like adults and being paraded around as mature, we now spend our actual adulthood being rejected as immature children who are simply bitter at our parents.

Children have a right to access social media and the Internet. Taking away these tools is a fundamental violation of children’s rights to expression, community, and information.
Why Social Media and the Internet are Children’s Rights
Banning kids from being online is, in most cases, neither good parenting nor good policy.
