As @dlmayfield.bsky.social and @krispinmayfield.bsky.social have documented in their excellent "Strongwilled" multimedia series (strongwilled.substack.com), evangelical leaders knew the research on child abuse and child protection decades ago but still blamed queer and other marginalized people.

Violence begins in families. What parents model for their children regarding the use, misuse, and abuse of power has widespread ramifications far beyond the family. James Dobson understood this.
When the Prodigal Son Returns Home With a Gun
Unless you are willing to look at the root of violence in your own families or respect the human rights of other families’ children, I cannot take your concerns about violence seriously.

A father’s penis is not magical. It neither gives the father the right to authority and power, like patriarchy claims, nor does it cure homosexual children of their homosexuality.

How Dad’s Penis Cures Homosexual Kids, According to James Dobson
By recommending this disturbing advice from Joseph Nicolosi, James Dobson is directly promoting and encouraging child sexual abuse.

It's striking how much his story lines up with mine even though I was put into homeschool nearly 15 years before he was. I think it is an indictment of modern society as a whole that many women resort to homeschool simply because they are lonely and unfulfilled.

It's always someone else's fault... 🙈🙉🙊
A horrifying case of child abuse BUT this has nothing to do with homeschooling. The school was aware of the child's malnutrition yet they never bothered to report the family until he was withdrawn from school. How long did this child suffer because teachers failed in the mandatory reporting?
