I haven’t been creatively motivated / driven in some time, but one of my favorite things to do is take a selfie at every AMC movie I go to. I titled the series after a line in the Nicole Kidman pledge of allegiance, “because here, they are”. It’s my very own On Kawara-like practice.
It is still so funny to me that “red tie” means Republican and “blue tie” means Democrat. Like, it never ceases to tickle me. Color theory and American politics lmao
this looks like an after school program where young people help out seniors at home

Anyone in Chicago want this George Maher fireplace?

Free to a good home (via a friend of mine)

Apparently it’s movable.

Just rewatched “Amadeus” (it holds up). Cannot believe Mozart died at 35 and the last opera he wrote was “The Magic Flute”. God-tier creative genius. Like he made literal banger after banger.

I think there's a decent chance that the Pope visits Chicago during this presidency and while there asks to see Broadview and I wonder how that plays out.

Just got out of the Patti Smith show at The Chicago Theater, it was pure magic! And the Television medley following “Horses” was life-altering.

LFG!!!
Workers at The Met are trying to unionize, citing “long-term pay inequities, lack of job protection, and ever-increasing workloads.” If they succeed, their union would be one of the largest museum unions in the US.

Staffers at the New York City institution have filed a petition for a union vote with the National Labor Relations Board.

2025 has without a doubt been the worst year of my life. As far as I’m concerned, the next few weeks are nothingness. Deliver me to 2026 in one piece.

I'm back on the job market and genuinely planning to ask potential employers what expectations there are around AI usage in the role. Because at my last job, everyone was using it for their work and I did NOT agree with that from an ethical standpoint...

This is so much of the culture of living in DC if you are in certain neighborhoods or eat at certain places. And then you venture out, make friends, and it sort of becomes like anywhere else.
I’m on the train back to New York City after spending a night in dc. Last night I went to a steakhouse and sat a table away from two of the presidents lawyers.

Sometimes my past life in the art world sneaks up on me, and I remember that I sat next to Tehching Hsieh at a museum gala and he was a lovely, kind person.

Halfway through No Spend November and my desire to purchase things has been cured! Just in time for the holiday adverts to aggressively be pushed at me.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I didn’t go to the lake last night because I was tired and didn’t want to experience the aurora borealis mediated through my screen. If it’s totally visible to the naked eye and not via long exposure through my phone, I’d be more interested.
