Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.
New research finds trans teens have high satisfaction with gender care
The survey published in JAMA Pediatrics showed that trans teens taking puberty blockers or hormones had very low rates of regret.

Unbelievable. This would be a terrible blow to American science, writ large. It would decimate not only climate research, but also the kind of weather, wildfire, and disaster research that has underpinned half a century of progress in prediction, early warning, and increased resilience.
Exclusive: The Trump administration is moving to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, according to a senior White House official, taking aim at one of the world's leading climate research labs.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

NEW: ProPublica examined months of Fox News’ coverage and reviewed over 700 videos posted on social media.

The network used five-year-old footage, mislabeled other dates and implied footage from elsewhere was in Portland.
“Riots Raging”: The Misleading Story Fox News Told About Portland Before Trump Sent Troops
After reviewing coverage from the network and hours of social media videos that preceded Trump’s decision, ProPublica found that Fox’s portrayal of “Portland rioters” routinely instigating violence was misleading.

Starting with "You can have your opinions on trans issues & who can/cannot participate in women's sports leagues based on gender standards" is positioning this as a debate. Trans people's ability to fully participate in public life is NOT an "opinion" to "disagree" on! We have lost the plot!
Instagram post from former player Nicole Baxter following the appearance of her former teammate on a conservative news network this morning.

It reflects what others probably feel: have the conversation internally, not in a way that explicitly opens up players to abuse - that’s inexcusable.

In addition to any moral or competitive arguments,

1. This is a fake problem. There aren't any trans women in NWSL. There aren't any trans women in the immediate pipeline that I'm aware of.

2. Using Banda for the cover photo here is obviously just extremely racist.
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...
