Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

1. The history of baseball stadiums in Toronto goes back a century before the SkyDome opened.

With the Jays coming home for Game Six, I thought I'd share my old thread about it.

It begins all the way back in the 1800s with a place called the Toronto Baseball Grounds…

How, exactly, do the Canadian Armed Forces deploy on operations with an ally who doesn't respect ROEs?
Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."

My @thestar.com column from the weekend: the premier and others are calling Toronto’s speed cameras a “cash grab”, but the data suggests they’re ticketing less than 5% of all speeding cars. Not exactly the grabbiest.

If anything, they’re too forgiving.

www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
Matt Elliott: Cash grab? If there’s a problem with Toronto’s speed cameras, it’s that they aren’t grabbing enough cash
The data shows that if it were logistically possible to fine every driver doing one km/h over the limit, the Parkside Drive speed camera alone could have brought in half a billion dollars.

OREM, UT - Americans who champion the right to bear arms were shocked Wednesday as controversial commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and killed, as opposed to the ordinarily acceptable trend of mass shootings in schools.

This story is a SUPERB way to describe the need for political parties to limit membership and prevent entryism, on both the left and right (but right is the bigger problem at the moment). So many parties in so many countries have fallen out of political normalcy by serving that guy
This little parable is a nice illustration of why it is important for mainstream parties to set and uphold clear, bright line anti-prejudice norms, and of why the failure of senior Conservatives to do so risks doing great harm to their party
