Apropos of nothing, but if I were producing a spin-off of a huge cult television series, and I were looking for a possible international partner to pick it up, I would probably make screeners of that spin-off available to critics to help generate wider media attention for it.

Layoffs wreck studios. Institutional knowledge is SO valuable in the games industry. When you eventually replace that laid off employee, I don’t care if they’ve got 30 years of experience and dozens of games under their belt. They still have to learn the pipeline, the software, the systems.

Nintendo showed off a new Switch version of 'Is This Seat Taken?' and shadowdropped it today during their Indie World event. The game is entirely built around mouse controls but there's no Switch 2 version/mouse control support. The developers want to do it but they haven't been given kits yet 🤦♂️

It's official. The SAG strike is finally over. It took an entire year but now VAs have the AI protections they sought. This is a huge victory. Do not let anyone who isn't in the industry tell you otherwise.

I was literally wondering today which Mario Kart has been remade the most and now I know.
You may have noticed that SNES Mario Circuit 3 appears more times in Mario Kart games than any other track. Development files for Super Mario Kart reveal that it was actually the first course ever made for the series. As such, the team likely has a sentimental attachment to it.
