The Journey Begins Again: Preparing for 2026 TV/Theatrical/Streaming Negotiations. Two years and 14 days ago, the membership of SAG-AFTRA ratified one of the most consequential agreements in our union’s history. After a 118-day strike, the hot labor summer was over and a new deal was struck. The time has come, once again, to negotiate the TV/Theatrical/Streaming agreements. Formal negotiations are scheduled to begin, earlier than usual, on Feb. 9, 2026. SAG-AFTRA National Board Unanimously Votes to Ratify Historic First Intimacy Coordinator Agreement The SAG-AFTRA National Board convened today for a one-day video conference plenary and unanimously voted to ratify the tentative agreement for the intimacy coordinator contract, establishing the first-ever collective bargaining agreement covering intimacy coordinators working in scripted television, theatrical and streaming productions. The agreement goes into effect Feb. 22, 2026 for new pictures and new seasons of series that commence principal photography after that date. Key gains in the landmark Intimacy Coordinator Agreement include: Contributions to and participation in the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan, SAG-Producers Pension Plan, and AFTRA Retirement Fund for the first time on the same terms as found in the Codified Basic Agreement and Television Agreement. Guaranteed daily and weekly minimum rates that will increase annually at the same rate as the Codified Basic Agreement and Television Agreement. Overtime provisions for work in excess of 8 hours in a day and 40 hours in a week. Guaranteed access to final nudity/simulated sex riders, studio guidelines for nudity/simulated sex scenes, and visual access to the performance of such scenes. Additional protections including travel provisions and per diem when working at an overnight location, late payment liquidated damages, and meal breaks.

Today, we celebrate the life and career of the late Ossie Davis, who was #BOTD in 1917! An actor, writer, director & activist for social justice & equality, he left a lasting impact on our industry. With his wife, Ruby Dee, they received the 2000 SAG Life Achievement Award.

Many talent agents get paid 20% upfront to submit talent for non-union jobs and still take an additional 20% commission from talent.

Those agents are making 40% or more on non-union commercial projects versus 10% on union commercial work.
