I need to be clear about this, we're no longer being 'warned' about this, we're in the midst of a generational crisis caused by this.

You don't get Elon Musk, J.K. Rowling, Yoon Suk-yeol, Marc Andreesen and countless others in their reactionary incarnations without social media addiction. Period.

I need them to start mass-producing everything from the Sailor Moon S knitting pattern book (but in adult sizes and not using wool). Scans by @missdream.org

Trump won in 2024 by 1.5%pts and the press acted like he got a mandate to be god-emperor, can’t wait for them to be dismissive of victories in places the Democratic Party hasn’t won in 20 years

not to bring the vibe down, but my guess is that after tonight Trump will probably double down on gerrymandering, voter suppression, and intimidation as tactics to disincentivize Dem turnout ahead of next year‘s midterms. (with margins like these, it won’t matter, but it’s a time to be vigilant)

it's funny that the Democratic coalition basically spans everywhere from former Lt Gov of GA (anti-Trump Republican) to NY municipal socialist

popular front: the party

It’s also very funny that people are just saying this now in response to LLMs. Like LLMs are annoying but they’re not the cause of this, you’re literally on social media right now.

Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

There can't be "both sides" for the Civil War for the same reason there can't be "both sides" for WWII.

Turning the Civil War from "a tragedy, brother against brother" into "The Good Guys Destroyed The Bad Guys" is necessary. It is absolutely essential. The fourth grade class I attended in the 1990s sang Dixie every morning and we need to completely stomp that out.

"You are a very different person than I thought you were" is just such a brain-dead statement, as if Greene doesn't understand that she has to be on her best behavior while she uses this talk show appearance to change her image.
this is beyond a media rehab, it's the structural terraforming of a noxious sinkhole

They do not think we are a real mass movement.

That's why they have all the crazy "Cathedral" and "Longhouse" and paid protestors shit.

They simply do not believe people believe in liberalism.

They lack a realistic theory of mind for us.

What’s the real reason that over a month after her election, Adelita Grijalva is STILL waiting to be sworn in?

Mike Johnson wants to protect those in the Epstein Files.

Full stop.

Sucks that #Itanium is still so hard to emulate

Furthest thing, ski, can boot a specially compiled Linux kernel and userspace and that's about it.

Not to mention that even that is McKinley (Itanium 2) only. So much juicy history is stuck on Merced devkits which are almost as rare as a Apple I.

Also I can't figure out how small (non CMOS) NMOS IC feature sizes actually scale. I know it reached 1000nm and experimental stuff reached like 7nm or something in 2002, but what would the actual, practical limit be?
October 23, 2025 at 3:04 AM
Mad that I can't find that comment about how Merced (first Itanium) came close to a floor plan in like 1995-1996 and then someone decided to put the Clipper encryption chip in it or some shit and set it back by months, and later on they kept trying to make it work on 250nm and also gave up on that
