This framing makes me so angry. I'm upset the Dem caucus caved, but if we went through this in an earnest attempt to keep healthcare less ruinously expensive, I can at least be glad they tried.
If they never thought it could work, and the pain and uncertainty was *messaging*? That's just monstrous.

As a non-lawyer, I am really curious how, if at all, it affects Fair Use analysis when OpenAI giving an opt-out for copyright holders.
I imagine it certainly could affect willfullness analysis, although I guess they'll say the opt out shows it isn't reckless disregard?

“They’re setting up this false bargain where they can do this unless you opt out. And if you don’t, it’s your fault. That’s not the way the law works"

friends with large accounts, I'm not going to pester you personally but just generally speaking, I would sure appreciate a signal boost on this thing. We seem to have leveled out, and since this is a one-shot (won't be in bookstores) I'd like to get it out there as much as possible.

The most frustrating thing to me honestly isn't even the "hope GOP comes to their senses" bit. It's the uselessness of what he wants them to do!
It'a that the action he is asking for r help with is legislation... but there *are* existint laws that Trump is violating willfully!

Asked what he would do to stop the deployment of federal troops to Portland, Chuck Schumer replies: "I'd hope some of them [Republicans] would join us in legislation to prevent it from happening."

Friendly reminder that some people have life threatening anaphylaxis reactions to NSAIDs (i.e., aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen) making acetaminophen the only OTC pain killer that won't send them to the ER.
Last time I took an aspirin, ER and four epinephrine shots barely kept me alive.

Wow, checking the HTML/CSS of this versus the Wayback Machine defense.gov version, the text here is just text and laid out using CSS flex property. All they changed in the webpage is the word "Defense" changed to War, but no updates to any of the layout to account for less text.

This reminds me of ai advocates who claim that those who refuse to use GenAi do so because they dont know how it works, yet it’s the opposite!

I think that I'm pretty in the "too much" zone of consuming politics content, and am working to dial that back. But I'm skeptical that I've been so successful at it to literally never heard of a media empire that is "beating Fox News right now."
I'm all for some rhetorical hyperbole, but come on.

While I appreciate the good trolling response, it still doesn't make the first thing being posted by Newsom's team any less terrible... I don't care about "blasphemy", I'm just disturbed by anyone who sees such an image of themselves and thinks "yeah, that's worth sharing with the world"
