Abolish the Senate. I am absolutely dead serious.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Gigantic SUVs are a public health threat. Why don’t we treat them like one?

The anti-smoking playbook is worth studying and learning from, and is completely applicable to oversized cars.

One of Vienna's main civic/market squares, choked by vehicles & turned into a grim 20th century car park. Transformed back into a space for people in the last few years.

Since then? Crickets. We need to pass something like this in Oregon to densify land use around MAX stations ASAP.
Good morning!

Last night, Illinois’ legislature passed a law, SB2111, which will fund a major expansion of service for the Chicago region’s transit systems, thanks to new revenue sources.

The law also takes a major step forward in coordination between agencies.
Statement from the RTA: "The passage of SB2111 is a landmark moment for public transit in Illinois."

Living comfortably car free in the US means moving to specific neighborhoods in maybe 3 cities. Most of which have prohibitively high cost of living. That is the moral failing. Making a depreciating asset required to exist is disgusting.
This person said we all think "driving is a moral failing" and that's not how I view things. I am mad that we have created a system where many people have to drive, or think driving is the only safe or efficient option to get where they need to go.

(If you drive a lifted Ram though, fuck you)
