ONCE upon a time (a few months ago) a group of over-excited British commentators argued that one Brexit benefit was that the UK would not be involved in a trade war between Trump and the EU.

Well.

Rarely on the Subway these days, so it still feels like a novelty having these flashy, very sci-fi feeling trains

I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

I can't help but think of Heather Heyer, the woman killed in Charlottesville during the first term.

What was then an act of white supremacist vigilante violence by a radicalized right winger has now escalated to official acts carried out by the state

Good news for the New Year. Also good to see reporting like this in @glasgowtimes.bsky.social, with a focus on the victims of unsafe roads and why this will benefit everyone simply trying to walk, wheel or cycle their way around the city.

This, but also for far too many suburban rail stations <15mins by train from the city centre.
Glasgow has 15 subway stations. Just look at the land use around these two! It's shocking.

Should be dense housing and commerce, or dense employment. Instead we have a huge motorway junction and like a car dealership and some warehouses that could just as happily be on the outskirts.
