Watch what happens to retired Congress members. For Republicans they find their reward for being in the trenches comes after they retire. They get their commissions from the special interests they served while in office. It’s payday for a Republican.
FUN FACT: A total of 25 Republicans in the House are already planning to retire or resign, compared to only 16 Democrats (not including Mikie Sherrill, recently elected governor of NJ). The number of GOP resignations are expected to increase further over the coming months.

Bookkeepers/CEO types who embezzle flock together. Does he pardon only Grand Old Party criminals?
Trump pardoned a Nevada Republican who raided a police memorial charity for $70K to fund her plastic surgery and her daughter’s wedding. Families of dead officers got nothing—she got a presidential pardon. Republicans preach “law and order” while celebrating thieves who steal from cops.

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.

Artificial intelligence is used as a shortcut. Using it they want credit/reputation/bona fides without actually accomplishing anything. They don’t learn how to do it because it’s too hard. So they cheat and use a shortcut. It’s artificial, not authentic. PK Dick worried about authenticity.
I’m on vacation in the woods and I know the world does not need my take on everything but holy shit the man generating ai pics of women and displaying them in a fine art gallery in CDA is so cringe. People who use AI to generate “art” are so fundamentally unintelligent, uncreative and unserious

It’s been 10 years now since publication of The Red Web: the struggle between Russia’s Digital Dictators and The New Online Revolutionaries, by Andrei Soldatov and Irina Borogan. Mr. Putin is a menace to civilization, and it’s now on the horizon for America. We need to outlaw oligarchs.

I learned in the newspaper business, the integrity of the publication is in direct correlation with the advertising it presents. Trusted advertising, trust in the information in the rest of the newspaper; cheap scam advertising, untrustworthy information in the rest of the newspaper’s pages.

For Pete’s sake. It’s hard to find because Mr. Trump is lying.
Outside of the ICE facility in Portland, Oregon, one can find some protesters in inflatable costumes—frogs, a unicorn, a butterfly picking up a cigarette off the asphalt. The chaos Donald Trump keeps pointing to is harder to find.
