Do you actually want me to explain why I think this way, or are you being reflexively defiant at anyone who doesn't agree with your interpretation of the narrative? Because I've got stuff to do today.

This. *This* is the thing that will get me to overcome the inertia of having used Turbotax for years and never *quite* thinking it's worth the trouble to start with a different service even though I know they're a ripoff.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

Antisemitism is a lot like Qanon child abuse conspiracies in that there’s this real and bad phenomenon and, parallel to that, what can only be described as a large scale mass psychosis about a mostly fictional version of the same phenomenon

I wrote about the high stakes power game over “reliable sources” — and the story of how Grokipedia did change its entry ab me after my Atlantic article on its hallucinations last week.

The problem here isn’t just Aspen Center policy (though I think the secrecy thing and not even knowing who is on the admissions committee is weird and needs to change) (note this is NOT the Aspen Institute which is a block away). The problem is that the academy is centered on these kinds of norms.

The incredible, indomitable, inspirational Alice Wong has left us.

I'm so grateful to have known her on social media, and so grateful for all the words she shared with us and all the actions she encouraged us into making.

May we live up to her example.

Big agree. I think more than anything else, Democrats (members of the Democratic party) need to stop taking advice from "Democrats" (people who play "a Democrat" in the pundit circuit) which includes not feeling compelled to *respond* to those pundits (I know it's hard!)
democrats love all their moderate, progressive, and top-of-the-distribution leaders <3
they can all live in harmony together under a big diverse tent if they restore regional party identities and stop the circular firing squad on nationalized media <3

I mean, that's very much "bar set lower than hell" territory, but the thing that journalists and other kinds of truth tellers can do is *interrupt the narrative* that not just ogres but enablers weave about themselves. They are putting a non-complicity narrative out there & we don't have to buy it!

This is a story of a massive Trump cover up but it’s also a story about total elite impunity, how the wealthy and powerful operate with a set of rules totally unrecognizable to the rest of us
The Jeffrey Epstein emails are astonishing not so much for the chumminess he enjoyed with elites even after he’d served time for soliciting prostitution with a minor but for their flagrantness, their casual disregard, and their indifference to consequence.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Exclusive: Adolf Hitler’s DNA has been sequenced by scientists

It has:
- shown he had a disorder which impacted his sexual development
- debunked rumours about his ancestry
- shown a high likelihood that he had a neurodivergent condition and/or bipolar disorder
