the number of half-truths and insinuations in here is really astounding.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the user shitting on No Kings with the handle "freenudecelebs@bsky" is not actually working tirelessly to help other people.

Unlike the NYT, actual news sources covered this as a progressive win: www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

The only time I've ever willingly spoken to anything animated by ChatGPT, it was Meta's impossible-to-disable AI. I asked it enough probing questions that it admitted that Meta's stated value of user experience was inconsistent with what it was actually doing.

Then it blocked me.

Eugene Debs got 3.4% of the popular vote, carried no seats, and Warren G. Harding (our second most-corrupt president ever) won by over seven million votes over his Democratic challenger, so this isn't actually the "draft dodging is great and highly appreciated by all" point you were trying to make.

this is what ChatGPT brings by making sure all of its answers are flattering and poised for engagement, yes?

MLK was at a +4 in May 1963, -1 by May 1965, and -30 by 1966. And while issue polling on civil rights said that people supported civil rights, 68% preferred "moderate enforcement" and people thought it was going "too fast."

You're right -- the author, Penny von Eschen, is the one who elides the difference.

Tankies write books when they have tenure, and I had the misfortune of being assigned to read her book "Paradoxes of Nostalgia" during the early days of Russia's invasion. It was full-on Russian propaganda.

In Feb 2024, research analysts tracked the top 20 articles on the Times’ landing page. The NYT published 26 unique articles about Biden’s age, where one mentioned Trump.

"Trump would upend the world’s core military alignment of the last 75+ years, garnered 10 unique articles in the timeframe."

I definitely saw pictures like this one in my history textbooks and the implication was, well, slavery in the US couldn't be so bad if there were that few slaves sent here.

the most vivid accounts of slavery are in the memoirs - I read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl when I was about 12.

This was UChicago's response in 2018 to a letter from alumni urging the University not to allow Steve Bannon (before he was found guilty) to speak at UChicago, citing both his history of hate speech and the resources it would be for the University.

UChicago: Free expression for fascists only!

this was what made me, a person previously unaware of your existence, think that you're interested in engaging in a debate about the merits of Will Stancil!

You have a very selective memory. If it is working better now, it's because daily users have gone down that much and the less-good coding can handle it.

Do you have a citation for that? My recollection is that he was okay with an ethics investigation when it was just one person, but dropped out instead after it became seven+ women saying they were groped or forcibly kissed. www.vox.com/2018/5/21/17...

The cops didn't just shrug, the cops told her she needed Palmer's cooperation to move forward, and Scarlett assured them that she would because AP was a feminist.

AP refused to talk to the police and instead warned NG, leading to another round of emotional manipulation.

This article's data analysis is extremely flawed: the slowdown stopped in March 2024, they report deaths increasing throughout the first six months, and the data sheet they link to is the YTD from Dec 8th, 2024.

Am I actually being targeted by a Russian propaganda bot/low-paid person in a shitty office job for having pointed out that they do propaganda for the worst people alive?

Also, while people frequently underestimate me because I'm young-looking, chubby, and generally cute as a button, they have no idea that my brain is actually full of this:
