Although wholesale gas costs have dropped, the cost of electricity is rising. Much of that is due to ADDING more nuclear to the mix, at exorbitant, locked-in costs and subsidies.

So I guess small nuclear reactors won't be better than scaling up cheap renewables. Fancy that. 🤔
There’s some very bad news hidden in the Ofgem price cap for January announced yesterday: the electricity to gas price ratio has jumped to 4.67, its highest level since before the energy crisis.

This is a big barrier to households adopting heat pumps in Britain, and threatens our climate goals

This has implications too for contributors to Canadian political parties - though in our case the contributions are feeding the conservative party.
Not only through direct contributions, but also by through owned media that so directly influences Canadian voters.

We spent a year investigating billionaires for @washingtonpost.com.

We found: the wealthiest 100 Americans gave $1.1 billion to influence the 2024 elections — 140x more than they did in 2000. And almost all of that giving boosted Republicans.

I really hope that when the Supreme Court rules, they determine that the notwithstanding clause doesn’t oust judicial review.

AB and SK are fighting it because they don’t want to show their fake ass evidence. They want to attack their citizens with no recourse, no review.

AI presents a fundamental threat to our ability to use polls to assess public opinion. Bad actors who are able to infiltrate panels can flip close election polls for less than the cost of a Starbucks coffee. Models will also infer and confirm hypotheses in experiments. Current quality checks fail

As always with the RebelCons/MAGAs, the question is:

Are they truly dumb enough to believe what they're selling us, or do they KNOW what they're saying is utter twaddle?

If one assumes that Mulroney isn't that dumb, it means that he's a snake oil salesman like Slogan Boy.
