I’m torn by talk of Poilievre’s leadership being in trouble.

While he’s their leader the Cons can’t win, so I sort of hope he stays.

Nations rarely have the good fortune to have someone the calibre of Mark Carney willing to put up with politics to lead, I don’t want to waste that opportunity.
Half of Canadians would be ‘ashamed’ to call Pierre Poilievre PM: Angus Reid
Despite a decisive byelection victory on Monday, winning him back a seat in the House of Commons, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is coming up short in winning Canadians overall.

I am against floor-crossing, but I’m also against hypocrisy.

How quickly we forget…

“Scheer will appoint Leona Alleslev as his Deputy Leader.

Alleslev was elected as a Liberal but crossed the floor to the Tories in 2018. In her time as a Conservative she served as a backbencher under Scheer.”

The difficulty the Conservatives will have discrediting d’Entremont’s criticisms is that Poilievre proudly displays these behaviours.

Who watches smarmy apple-eating Poilievre dismissing journalists and has any difficulty believing d’Entremont’s criticism of his leadership style?

Trump is on track to turn North America’s once-dominant auto industry into a backwater, where a few companies churn out inferior, dirty cars for a captive consumer base that has no choice but to buy them.

Unless Canada quickly unties itself from the U.S., we’ll be in the same automotive mess.

I decided last week it was time to stop worrying about LLMs and start using them.

Wow. Just playing around, asking them for help with travel plans, woodworking tips, and to analyze my investments (ironically, for vulnerabilities from an AI bubble), and I’m really impressed.

It’s fun too.

In case you’re wondering, it’s the Liberals’ fault Conservative MPs are leaving. Not Poilievre’s.

Calling it the “World Series” is up there with the US claiming the name of two entire continents, of which they are less than half of only one, as their particular collective noun.

I’m not saying the people of the USA seem to think weirdly highly of themselves. Okay, yes, I am.

Good job Blue Jays.

I’m a Mariners fan but love the poetry of a Canadian team going to the USA’s “World” Series in the midst of open economic aggression by the USA towards Canada.

The Jays will be easy to cheer for.

Well, if the Mariners win tonight they’re in the World Series, and I’ll be happy.

If they lose, my father-in-law gets to watch the Jays in the World Series, and I’ll be happy.

Time for some Bobby McFerrin.

“Though it looks like little more than fibrous dirt, peat has near-magical properties.”

The UK is way ahead of us on this. It’s time we stopped mining peat for potting soil.

Stop me if we’ve seen this story before. The only ones saying this is sustainable are the corporations profiting from it.

Carney is talking about reverse onus for violent offenders, which makes sense to me.

But B.C. media in discussing this are interviewing business owners about property crime.

Shoplifting is not violent crime. Its causes are social injustice and lack of mental health supports. Not the Criminal Code.
