ALL TRUMP HAS TO DO IS SNAP HIS FINGERS

I wrote about what we could go back to if Trump just snapped his fingers right now.

People LOVED their factory jobs back in the 60s / 70s.

That's why there were so many songs about how they wanted to stay on the production line for all time and never, ever leave their hometown.

"The mistake is to assume that rulers who came to power through institutions cannot change or destroy those very institutions - even when that is exactly what they have announced they will do."

- Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny
Folks, this is a scam.

The GOP is helping Elon Musk and his friends loot the federal government and give themselves billions in federal contracts—and then wants to give them permanent tax breaks on the back end by cutting critical programs.

Let's call it what it is: a scam on the American people.

A recent Nature poll has found that 75% of researchers surveyed are considering leaving the United States for jobs abroad, with a higher percentage among early-career researchers.

Many are actively looking for jobs in Canada and Europe.

Right-wing YouTuber Tim Pool has made it to the White House pool — someone from his “Timcast” channel will be part of today’s pool duty covering the president.

Last year, DOJ revealed Pool was receiving millions of dollars from the Russian gov. Pool says he didn’t know where it was coming from.

A very old Soviet joke, from an especially dark time:

Foxes are fleeing the USSR in droves.
Q: Why are you running away?
Fox: The Soviets passed a new law that they’re going to arrest all camels.
Q: But you’re foxes!
Fox: Yeah, why don’t *you* try proving to the NKVD that you’re not a camel.
If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Presidential Pardons don't cover crimes tried at the Hague just saying
“One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, ‘I’m not a gang member. I’m gay. I’m a barber.’ I believed him. *** He “began to whimper,” as his head was roughly shaved, “folding his hands in prayer as his hair fell.” He “asked for his mother & cried as he was slapped again.”

this stuff is happening across the country and even more intensively downstream of the veterans admin but it's happening in so many places at once and without any public notification that it's still only barely emerging in the news
A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

Many people drawn to Gavin Newsom's debut podcast episode will never have heard of Charlie Kirk. So it opens a door to radicalization by putting extremist ideas into the minds of people who otherwise wouldn't hear them. Most listeners will reject them, but a few will be intrigued.
"The first guest on Gavin Newsom's podcast was Charlie Kirk" is more than enough for me to say "absolutely not" to any suggestion Newsom play any role in the future of the Democratic Party. People like him are the past, the failures, the ones who got us here.
Gavin Newsom would have put down the Bell Riots with tanks and napalm I can tell you that much

Both Sandler and Bauman are no longer alive and hence can not possibly be involved. They do share one cultural characteristic with George Soros, however, which surely wasn’t on Musk’s mind when he wrote this.
Musk is blaming "Herbert Sandler," among others, for secretly financing the protests and Tesla dealerships over the last few weeks.

Sandler died in 2019.
