old enough to celebrate birthdays without mentioning age.

Well amidst a burning hellscape, the almost-not-a-toddler-anymore graciously set up a foot soak spa for herself, myself, and the guest of honor - Princess Anna Skeleton.

Princess Anna Skeleton was also allowed and hand fed delicious earl grey cookies. These were forbidden for mere mortals.

It’s been a long day, but in short, bullies ain’t shit! I don’t care what title you hold! This isn’t some long gone reality tv show or failed casino; it is war!

How dare a draft dodging dumb dupe humiliate an ally & berate a brave man who has actually been on a battlefield for his people?!

Nothing like a toddler to keep any ego in check.

Husband comes up the stairs to say hi to The Child. All it took was an inhale and the start of a happy “Hey!” for her to vehemently cut him off with “NOPPPPE.”

Impressively plosive delivery though.

hey for anyone who might want to actually own their kindle books instead of renting them, or who might be thinking of switching to kobo etc and will want to convert them to epubs, you now only have one week before amazon kills your ability to download its ebooks www.theverge.com/news/612898/...
Amazon’s killing a feature that let you download and backup Kindle books
It’s bad if you like to keep ebook backup copies.

so special ed programs are getting gutted because their internal documentation used the term "transition" when talking about helping disabled kids enter the working world. they're literally striking at that word wherever they see it.
the richest man in the world has decided that your kids don't deserve special education programs

Been feeling a bit low lately, so my friend stole me for a day which included a super cool Chinese tea room followed by a romance bookshop. She then plopped me onto a fluffy couch with a selection of blankets, a lap cat, and hydration station to read.

I am so eternally grateful for good ppl.

My favorite time of toddler sickness: she began to seem better, then I got sick, and now she’s worse again.

Did I get something different from her? Is her gremlin magpie Larfleeze self deciding to be sick again bc being sick is HER thing and how dare I try?

Look, I'm not a fancy CEO guy, but if someone said to me "the key to this successful single-player IP's success is to make it purely a multiplayer game. No, not a spin off: fundamentally change the DNA of what people loved about the core game" to me, I'd probably, like, quit that job or something.

PNW life = fog & rain.
Somehow the toddler finds it magical each time, runs to put on her space unicorn boots, grabs her umbrella that changes color in the water, and rushes out to sing made-up rainy day songs.

So if you see a haggard, haphazardly clothed lady singing in the rain, that’s why.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.

We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.

ALSO.

Dragon Age has brought me so much joy and comfort in my darkest times- i could (and might honestly) write so much about it.

That I cant reciprocate that feeling to the people that made it- i get so frustrated.

Any and all DA devs, you matter. Your work matters- they dont know all you did.

If you would like to help support Trick Weekes, they wrote a few books you should get! Quoted is the best ways to support, and here are the titles:

The Palace Job (2012)
The Prophecy Con (2014)
The Paladin Caper (2015)
Feeder (2018)
Not Trick, but a writer.

Honestly anywhere that isn't a used bookstore. The royalties paid out for ebooks are pretty similar, ditto print. Though, guessing, direct from Amazon probably edges out for Rogues of the Republic. Feeder should be about the same $ everywhere.

Let’s all challenge them since they are so fixated on “agility.”
remember when EA's tagline was "challenge everything"? Well I challenge all the execs to a fistfight.
January 30, 2025 at 1:42 AM
“More agile?” that is some corporate bullshit fuckery. Layoffs are not a work out routine.
this is the sneakiest, weirdest way to announce layoffs so far.
The amount of mental gymnastic to avoid saying the word and spin the thing into a positive-sounding announcement is mind-blowingly sad...

Holy shit, I’m angry.

It feels like it should be weirdly parasocial to be this pissed, but these folks have created works that have been more than enjoyable - they have been life changing and life saving for so many people.

Fucking, fuck, fuck, fuck. Fuuuuuck.

The awkward moment when realtor asks if I’m in the biz/if we used an interior designer and my entire soul wants to throw itself into a new profession, but that can’t happen because that sounds like fun work and not work work work.

Is it bad when your toddler goes “oh what a wonderful drink you have” on the same evening you that you send your mom this comic and she agrees?

HAHAHAHA. the more ha-ha, the more panic.

Years of loving “Where’s Waldo?” have finally paid off when looking at the camera during my toddler’s (alleged) nap times.

We now have 3 cameras in her room and she STILL keeps finding more blind spots. How young is too young for espionage recruitment?

My toddler is a cat in many ways, but most ESPECIALLY in this one.
new thing!
