it's not the rules so much (solar can be quite dangerous) it's how obnoxious and burdensome it is to comply with them. a whole bunch of complicated ass paperwork you either have to assemble yourself or pay someone $$$ to fill out. and then getting approved takes months

I, too, sometimes find it mind-blowing how far Italian traffic planners would go to avoid installing a traffic light.
This is the traffic arrangement on one of Prato's throughfares
I'd say it's chaotic-organic, but with a sort of rationale: slow speed yields are the best way to handle conflicts.

My oven is a pretty standard thing but it has this feature called "rapid preheat" where it will run both the broil and the bake elements together until it's within 50° of your target.

Some Marxists defend despicable actions or positions of people they like by dismissing ethics itself. They turn the question entirely on whether someone "advances the revolution" or not.
