Setting aside that car drivers cause virtually all the injuries and deaths on our streets, every time there is rare crash involving an illegal e-bike, naysayers capitalize by conflating them with safe, legal e-bikes to further an anti-bike agenda.

New Yorkers are riding illegal vehicles marketed as e-bikes with little to no-consequences, and it's a safety problem.

Is there an emerging market for well built, but foldable cargo bikes?

There seems to be an increasing number coming to market and this from Fold looks to be capable of a big wheelbase reduction when pivoted on its central hinge.

The thing I want most from social media is for people to share things that I might want to read or watch that otherwise I wouldn’t read or watch, whether news, commentary, books, movies, tv, games to play, whatever. Bluesky does this. /4

Holy crap. This is terrible.

The article states it's "not related to the current U.S. government shutdown". But of course it is: they are both connected by the GOP destroying everything good about this country from the top down and the bottom up.

Seattle builds too many lifeless parks with endless green space that provides no recreation. The places they have installed minisoccer pitches are always active and vibrant. Why don’t we have one of these in every park?

Fantastic thread, @davidho.bsky.social is an excellent photographer.
If you’re a climate/energy person, I will take your portrait pro bono.
After far too many years, I've got myself a new Guardian byline pic, very kindly taken pro bono by Nick Bowring. It was getting like The Picture of Dorian Gray in reverse.

If you find yourself needing to cancel plans at Disney but still have flights and hotels booked, Cape Canaveral is super cool and you can probably get your kids excused from school for going. You can do all the behind the scenes stuff and it's still cheaper than Disney world.
“Experiences,” inclusive of Parks, specialty retail, timeshare, cruises, etc, account for a third of Disney’s revenue. What’s important to note is that it is a third that is almost entirely controlled by our consumption, whereas “Entertainment” lumps in cable tv splits, advertising, and affiliates.
Heard from a friend at Disney+ that there are multiple levels of freakout internally, both from internal dissatisfaction, concerns about subscription cancelations, and of course the big one: concern about a boycott spilling over into parks and cruises.
