I've cleaned my account of most posts and am going to do my best to go back to using social media less. :)
I don't use sites like this in the healthiest of ways, so I think it's time to make the right choice and minimize what I'm doing/posting. & No one aside from my wife NEEDS to know my business.

i get sick a lot, but mostly mild in comparison. this has been awful. to add to it, i thought i'd wake up feeling better this morning, not worse.

"1918 Flu was a lab leak" is an astonishingly stupid take.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stated that the 1918 flu pandemic was caused by a lab virus from vaccine research, a defective influenza vaccine. Let’s analyze what a lie this is. First, in 1918, 107 years ago, virology was in its infancy

Wait..they “found” ONE MILLION more Epstein files?!? I can’t keep track of this anymore. One second it’s a hoax and it doesn’t exist, the next there are a million more files.

I got an aeropress for Christmas as well as a temperature controlled kettle, and lemme tell you what - for my needs, this thing is an absolute dream.
People have made guides online for better utilization.
There's hardly any cleanup involved.
The coffee is good.

As of now, I highly recommend it.

I went to work and was told to turn right around because they don't want me getting everyone else sick...
But it's so confusing, because I'll also get guff for not working through it by other people.

It feels very lose lose.

My workplace secret Santa knew what I needed far too well. I got this, some chocolates, and a coffee shop gift card.

Thank you, oh mystery gifter. I need the stress relief, and whoever it was knew.
They left it where I hide my work supply box, so they likely know me well enough.

Merry christmas eve, my wife and I are playing video games and I just earned my giant undead ice dragon. Once We Were Spacemen podcast is on. The room is cozy. Beverages exist. Calories don't count on Christmas (eve and day).
We're just having a good time in our own way. :)

The horrific hilarity of the whole Ep:stein situation has genuinely made my day feel less bad, purely because damn, at least I'm not as stupid as the people releasing this shit.

I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.

Sick to death of people claiming Die Hard isn’t a movie. There are several clues that it definitely is:

It’s 130 minutes long and full of actors

It has a beginning a middle and an end

It has a soundtrack

The aspect ratio is consistent of other movies of the era

This and the discussion about how academics can now just read AI summaries of things really drives home how much these guys always confuse the product for the goal. You don't do a coloring sheet because you want to have a colored sheet at the end!!! The coloring is the point!!!
This is just sad.
