Housing is a human right. Fighting for tenants rights along with four floors and corner stores across Portland for all ages, wages and stages of life. 🏘️
Councilor Avalos' live-tweeting thread about the state of Portland's Inclusionary Housing is worth reading.

IH is now working in Portland because the program is fully funded - ensuring that we build mixed-income neighborhoods while also encouraging more housing production across the city.
Next on the agenda is an update on the City's Inclusionary Housing program and recent efforts to make the program work better for developers. Staff from the Portland Housing Bureau are here to explain the background of IH and how the program got adjusted after a 2024 study.

Bolstering the 70 would likely also be a critical investment to help spur the housing growth we wish to see in our flagship Inner Eastside for All campaign.

(Unfortunately TriMet's about to propose significant cuts in service due to lack of funding from the state legislature....)
there are so many SE to NE trips that are like 20 minutes faster if you get lucky with the timing of the 70 and can take that instead of transferring downtown. I really think it would do numbers as a frequent service bus

“We have a lot of people who are suffering right now, and I am not seeing that the mayor’s shelter plan is going to adequately alleviate that suffering,” Councilor Angelita Morillo told OPB in an interview. “Our office feels the need to act.”

One of the many reasons to make small multifamily buildings geometrically feasible on small lots is that they're much safer than the detached homes there today.

If people want to live in safer buildings, let's not stop them!
