My family decrying the JESUIT university I attended (not the hours of Rush Limbaugh and Fox News I was subjected to as background noise, on top of my AuDHD’s EXTREME sense of justice) was the reason I was radicalized.

As a boy growing up in a conservative midwestern Catholic community, ‘Stand by Me’ gave me permission to cry. To hug my friends. To explore the world. It’s a proto-latchkey kid film, which reinforced my ideas of what childhood actually should be like (ugly parts and all.) #RIP Rob Reiner.
