As more and more stores go union the companies shortsightedness will become glaring and indefensible.

It will become clear that Starbucks management is creating structural fragility."

AOC: I want to remind you where the real crime is. It's in the oligarchs taking $170 billion of our money from health care and food assistance and public programs and taking that and funneling it into a secret police program.

The impact of President Trump’s policies is being felt by workers across the board, and the early warning signs are there—especially among workers of color and older workers. More on November's jobs report from @saraestep.bsky.social & @profcew.bsky.social: www.americanprogress.org/article/nove...
November’s Jobs Report Hints at Labor Market Weakness Ahead
November’s jobs report, released today, showed signs of weakness—particularly among groups that often foreshadow broader labor-market cooling, such as workers of color and older workers.

Today's abysmal jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy.

What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.

When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs.

Remember this.

Some 1.9 million Americans had been out of work for more than six months in November. Long-term unemployment has risen significantly over the past year, both in absolute terms and as a share of the labor force.

It's bad.
Payrolls fell -105k in October and rose +64k in November. August and September payrolls were also revised down a total of 33k.

These data suggest VIRTUALLY NO EMPLOYMENT GROWTH since April ("Liberation day").

Unemployment is now up to 4.6%.

This is a tricky report, so stay tuned.

Remember, Mr. Rogers' original comment was intended for CHILDREN. Children need comfort, and their power is obviously very limited.

We're adults. We do need comfort, but we also need to take action. And what you'll find is the more you do, the better you'll feel. Look for the helpers and join them.
An important addendum to "look for the helpers" is "and then join them."
